Sunak is a British citizen by birth. His parents were born in Nairobi, Kenya. From there they migrated to UK. However, his grandparents were born in Gujranwala in undivided India. Currently the place belongs to Punjab, Pakistan. Sunak can be said to be of Indian origin due to his grandparents. From that point of view, he is also of Pakistani origin.

Rishi was born in 1980 in Southampton, UK. After completing the student life with the signature of merit, the professional life begins with a lucrative job. Later became a successful personality through investment business. His wife is the daughter of world famous multinational businessman NR Narayanamurthy.

London Mayor Sadiq Khan

He is also the first Muslim mayor of a capital city of a European Union country. He was elected mayor for the second time in 2021 as a reward for his success as mayor.

Sadiq Khan was born in 1970 in London, United Kingdom. He is one of the eight children of his parents. A few days before his birth in 1968, father Amanullah Khan and mother Seherun Khan came to London from Pakistan. In their early life they lived in government flats for the poor in South London.

Despite his poverty, Sadiq Khan did not hesitate to fight for his ideals and beliefs from his childhood and to face all the odds for success. He studied in a local government school. It was there that he turned to politics at the age of 15 and joined the Labor Party.

Sadiq Khan studied law and joined a law firm as a human rights lawyer in 1994. After nearly 10 years in 2004, he left his practice as a lawyer and joined politics full-time. In 2005, he was elected Member of Parliament for the South London constituency of Tooting.

Tower Hamlets Mayor Lutfur Rahman


Lutfur Rahman of Bangladeshi origin is serving as the mayor of London's Tower Hamlets. In the local elections held in May this year, the mayor of the Bengali-dominated area was elected for the third time.

He became mayor for the first time in 2010. Served until 2015. After that Lutfur was re-elected mayor for the second time. However, a fresh election was held against him on allegations of vote fraud; so that he is disqualified.

Pakistan was created from Britain in 1947 and Bangladesh was created from Pakistan in 1971 through a bloody liberation war. Currently, besides the increase in the number of Bangladeshis in Britain, their influence is also being noticed in the politics there.
