There have been reports of outages around the world using the popular messaging app WhatsApp. Many users have reported that their app is not working. Reuters reported this news in a report on Tuesday.
Users from different countries of the world including Bangladesh, India, United Kingdom, France, South Africa reported about WhatsApp down. They said that text and video cannot be exchanged. Any messages sent to private or group are not delivered.
A spokesperson for WhatsApp parent company Meta Platform said some users were having trouble sending messages. The authorities are aware of the matter. Work is underway to overcome this as soon as possible.
Downdetector is an online platform that provides users with real-time information about the status of various websites and services. The website monitoring platform says more than 11,000 users in India have reported problems with WhatsApp. Such complaints have come from different parts of the country.
As many as 68,000 users in the UK have reported problems with WhatsApp. In Singapore, this number is 19 thousand.
According to Reuters, Downdetector collects data from several sources on its platform. As a result, it appears that the actual number of users affected by the WhatsApp outage may be higher than their estimates.
In a post on Twitter with the hashtag WhatsAppdown, one user wrote, 'After I restart my phone I leave it in flight mode. Later I uninstalled WhatsApp and came to Twitter.
Before this, the last major outage occurred on WhatsApp in October 2021. Meta-owned Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram were down for about six hours at that time. As a result, billions of users around the world did not get the opportunity to use these apps at this time.
