Confidence in Putin rises: survey
Russian citizens' trust in President Vladimir Putin has increased.
In one week, his public support increased by 1.2 percent to 81.5 percent. This information is known from the survey conducted by the All-Russian Public Opinion Research Center of Khabar Tas
from September 5 to 11.
1 thousand 600 people over 18 years of age took the survey. The survey results were released on Friday (September 16).
According to the survey, 81.5 percent answered positively about whether they have confidence in Vladimir Putin.
In the previous poll, 78.3 percent of people supported the work of the Russian president.
On February 24 this year, the Russian army began military operations in Ukraine. Since then, the Ukraine-Russia war has been going on for more than 6 months. Recently, Ukrainian troops launched a counter-attack in northeastern Kharkiv.
Putin has blocked gas supplies to Europe by imposing sanctions on Russia over its actions in Ukraine. As a result, electricity and energy crisis has arisen in Europe.
Senior US officials have expressed 'disappointment' that the sanctions imposed by the US have not had a major impact on the Russian economy so far. But they also predicted that the 'hardest impact' of the ban could be visible as early as next year.
