Two members of the Metropolitan Police have been stabbed in central London, UK. The knife attack happened in the Leicester Square area on Friday (September 26). A 20-year-old suspect has been arrested by the police in this incident.
After the death of Britain's Queen, as London was busy with her funeral, the whole city was covered in a blanket of security, just as the stabbing of two policemen took place. In this incident, there is a lot of fear in the public mind.
A gunman attacked two police officers with a knife in the Leicester Square area of central London in the early hours of Friday local time. When the two police officers were seriously injured, they were admitted to the hospital. The police have already arrested the suspected attacker in this incident.
London Mayor Sadiq Khan said, 'I spoke to the commissioner immediately after the attack. Two of our brave officers have been stabbed. Fortunately, both of them survived. Currently they are under treatment in the hospital.
However, referring to the attack on the police as an isolated incident, it has nothing to do with the Queen's funeral, London police said.
