Kiev calls on Iran not to give drones to Russia
Ukraine has called on Iran not to give drone assist to Russia.
International news media Al Jazeera reported on Saturday( October 29) that Ukraine's Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba made this call to Iran's Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdul Nahyan.
The Ukrainian government and its Western allies claim that Iran has supplied Kamakazi drones( self-murder drones) to Russia. With the help of this drone, Russia has just attacked multiple installations including power plants in Ukraine. On Friday, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Kuleba said on Twitter," I was called by Iran's Foreign Minister today. At that time I requested him to stop giving arms to Russia at this moment. Russia is killing our people and destroying important structures in Ukraine with the weapons you gave them.'
Russia has just stepped up missile and drone strikes in Ukraine. Ukraine power plant destroyed by Russian drone attack.
In addition, important areas of Ukraine, including Kiev, have been left without electricity. Ukraine claims that Iran- made Shahed- 136 drones played a part in these destructions.
Meanwhile, in an interview given to Iran's state- controlled media IRNA on Monday, the country's Foreign Minister Amir Abdul Nahyan said that the accusations made by Ukraine and its allies in the Western world are fully wrong. He said, in the history we've imported and exported weapons with Russia. still, no weapons were exported during the Ukraine war.
He also told European Union foreign affairs head Joseph Borrell that Iran would help in any investigation into the use of drones in Ukraine.
