Iran's troops are helping Russia in Crimea: White House
In Russian-held Crimea, Iranian troops are helping Moscow forces attack Ukraine with Tehran-made drones. The White House said this on Thursday (October 20). News from AFP.
White House national security spokesman John Kirby told reporters, "We believe that members of the Iranian military are on the ground in Crimea and are assisting Russia in its military operations in Ukraine."
John Kirby said Iranian nationals in Crimea are trainers and provide technical assistance to staff. In this case, the Russian army is carrying out drone attacks in Ukraine with their cooperation. This is causing massive damage to Ukraine's infrastructure.
He said, currently the members of Tehran's military are directly involved in Crimea. Many civilian installations in Ukraine were damaged by Iran's use of various weapons in the attack.
The national security spokesman also said that the United States is going to use all means to uncover, prevent and counter the weapons that Iran is preparing against the people of Ukraine.
Ukraine Kirby said, "We continue to strengthen the comprehensive sanctions of the United States on the arms trade of Russia and Iran because of the use of these weapons against the people of Ukraine."
