Brazil's newly elected president Lula da Silva is lauded by world leaders after his royal comeback. US President Joe Biden, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and heads of government and states of various countries have congratulated him for being elected president for the second time and pledged to work together.

Left-wing leader and former president Lula da Silva had the last laugh after receiving 50.8 percent of the votes in the recently concluded second round of presidential elections in Brazil after various discussions and debates. Lula's supporters are in a flood of joy across Brazil after the historic victory. This former president of Brazil is floating in the praise of world leaders in his royal return. 


However, US President Joe Biden has pledged to work on the basis of mutual cooperation by congratulating Lula in a Twitter message after winning the election.

Apart from this, British Rishi Sunak, Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau tweeted congratulations to Lula de Silva and heads of governments and states of various countries. They also expressed hope that the newly elected president of Brazil would take effective steps to protect the Amazon, known as the 'Lungs of the Earth'. 


Meanwhile, after winning the election, Lula da Silva promised to work on poverty alleviation. He also commented that it is his duty.  


Meanwhile, even though a day has passed since the announcement of the election results, current President Jair Bolsonaro has not yet made any statement admitting defeat. On Monday (October 31) too, his supporters were seen protesting by burning tires in the streets, rejecting the election results.
