According to Reuters, KidsRights compiled these figures based on data provided by various UN agencies. It also said that about 820 million children, more than one-third of the world's children, are currently exposed to heatstroke.

However, Angola and Bangladesh have improved their position on child rights. Angola has more than halved its five-year-old child mortality rate. And Bangladesh has almost halved the number of underweight children under five.

KidsRights has also criticized Montenegro for low vaccination rates. The country's position in the organization's index is number 49.
