According to a report by The Guardian, La Plecita had its origins in the city of Morelos. The epicenter was 15 km below the surface. Details of the damage are not known yet. One death has been reported so far.
A tsunami warning has been issued in the region. According to the US Pacific Tsunami Warning Center, sea waves can reach up to 9 feet. Residents have been instructed to evacuate safely.
