Death toll rises to 13 in Russia school shooting
The death toll in a school shooting in the Russian city of Izhevsk has risen to 13. At least 20 people were injured in this incident. This has been confirmed by the Ministry of Home Affairs of the country.
According to Reuters, the attacker committed suicide by shooting himself after the shooting. The reason for the attack is yet to be ascertained by the police. Besides, the identity of the deceased has not been disclosed.
The report also said that the gun attack took place on Monday (September 26) at School No. 88 in the city of Izhevsk. The local education ministry said there were about 1,000 students and 80 teachers at the school at the time of the attack. Students and teachers have been evacuated from the school building.
Security forces and ambulances arrived at the scene shortly after the attack, said Alexander Brechalov, the governor of Udmurtia region.
According to the latest news, the area has been surrounded by the police.
