14 people were killed in a shooting spree by gunmen in Philadelphia and Pennsylvania. The shooting happened on Saturday night (November 5) local time.


According to the US media CNN, several gunmen opened fire in the Kensington and Allegheny area of ​​South Street in Philadelphia, USA on Saturday night. 3 people were killed on the spot. Later, 11 people were admitted to the hospital with serious injuries and 7 people died there.  

 

Philadelphia Police Inspector D.F. Police officers patrolling the South Street area said they heard gunshots and saw several gunmen firing into the crowd. Probably after the scuffle, the gunmen opened fire with five guns. It caused casualties. Two handguns were recovered from the spot. He said that no one has been arrested so far.


Meanwhile, four people, including a gunman, were killed in a shooting incident in Pennsylvania. According to state police, a man armed with an automatic weapon attacked several vehicles. At that time, the gunman shot a woman and then another woman and a man were killed. Later, when the police arrived and tried to disarm the gunman, he attacked the police. At that time, the gunman was killed by the police. No other information about the victims was immediately released.


Gun-rights activists are pressuring the US government to take tougher measures to curb gun violence. According to the nonprofit research group Gun Violence Archive, there have been at least 583 indiscriminate shootings in the United States so far this year.

 

US President Joe Biden has called on the US Congress to ban assault rifles, expand background checks and take other gun control measures to stop this trend of indiscriminate shootings.
