Meta on Russia's list of 'terrorist and extremist' organizations

Russia has added Meta, the Facebook parent company owned by Mark Zuckerberg, to its list of "terrorist and extremist" organizations.

News agency Reuters reported on Tuesday (October 11). Although nothing is known about this in detail so far.

Last March, the Russian government blocked social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter. At the time, a Moscow court charged the social media platform owned by Mark Zuckerberg with extremism.

Moscow Alleged Meta is allowing Ukrainian social media users to post content that incites violence against Russians.

Although Meta's lawyers denied the allegations at the time, they told the court the company had never been involved in extremist activities. Rather they were against 'Russophobia'.
