Twitter founder apologizes to employees
Jack Dorsey, the founder of the popular social media platform Twitter, apologized to the company's employees on Saturday (05 November). A day after new owner Elon Musk laid off about 50 percent of the company's workforce, Dorsey expressed regret at growing the platform too soon.
In a tweet on Saturday, Dorsey said, 'All employees at Twitter are skilled. They will find a right way even in difficult times. I know that many people are angry with me for the current situation. I am responsible for this situation, I have increased the size of the company very quickly. I apologize for that.'
Apart from this, in another tweet, he said, 'My gratitude and love for everyone who worked on Twitter.'
Recently Elon Musk, the world's richest man, bought Twitter for $44 billion. After this, he sacked the chief executive of the micro-blogging site, including Parag Agarwal. He even laid off large numbers of Twitter workers in an effort to cut costs. Twitter's new owner Elon Musk blames activists for declining revenue.
Elon Musk said in a tweet on Friday (04 November) that activists are trying to destroy free speech in America by raising concerns about Twitter moderation.
Jack Dorsey co-founded Twitter in 2006 with others. He has been the director of Twitter since 2007. In addition, Dorsey served as the company's chief executive from 2015 to May this year until he resigned from the Twitter board.
