Putin ordered more weapons
The war in Ukraine has been going on for nine months. The war, which started in late February this year, has been going on for 35 consecutive weeks. There are no signs of stopping yet. At this point in the war, some of the weaknesses of the Russian army became apparent.
The Russian forces faced stiff resistance in many places during the war. In many places resistance was not possible due to lack of weapons and military equipment. Apart from this, they lost weapons and equipment in the face of the attack of the Ukrainian forces. As a result, although a large area of Ukraine was occupied, a small part of it was lost.
In such a situation, Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered to increase the production of weapons and equipment and to quickly reach the hands of the Russian troops on the battlefield.
According to the BBC, Putin has formed a high-level committee to implement the plan to increase the production of weapons and equipment and deliver them to the Russian soldiers on the battlefield. He attended a meeting of the committee on Tuesday (October 25). In the meeting, he emphasized on increasing the pace of war in all areas of Ukraine.
Putin has announced the deployment of 300,000 troops in Ukraine. According to Russian media, many of these troops have not yet received the necessary weapons and military equipment. Even they have not been given medical supplies and bulletproof vests yet.
Many have collected these tools on their own initiative. Many did not even receive adequate training to take part in combat. President Putin visited a Russian military training camp last week. At that time, many analysts think that they tried to hide the issue of this deficit.
During the visit, Putin met with the Russian army, which has sufficient weapons and equipment. However, the issue of shortage has come up in a report of the Ministry of Defense of the United Kingdom. The report published last Tuesday said that Russia's supply of ammunition to the battlefield has decreased.
According to the Washington-based Institute for the Study of War, it is believed that Russia's missile and drone stockpiles are also on the decline. Therefore, Moscow has reduced the use of these weapons in the war. It may also be that Russia is changing strategic military goals.
