North Korea fired two ballistic missiles

North Korea has fired a missile again. This time the country has launched two short-range ballistic missiles together. This is what neighboring country South Korea claims.

It was speculated that Pyongyang might conduct nuclear weapons tests. The ballistic missile test was carried out on Friday (October 28) amidst the concern of the international community.

South Korea and the US concluded a 12-day joint land-naval military exercise on Friday (October 28). The two countries will start a large-scale joint air exercise from next Monday.

More than 200 warplanes of the two countries will participate in this exercise. In such a context, North Korea launched two ballistic missiles.

North Korea is angry at such drills by Seoul and Washington. Pyongyang sees it as an attack drill. So as a countermeasure to a possible attack, they fired missiles at intervals.

The US and South Korea have been warning for weeks that North Korean leader Kim Jong Un could conduct another nuclear test.

Regarding the latest missile, South Korea's military says it has detected two ballistic missiles fired off the coast of the Tangchon area in North Korea's Gangwon Province.

A statement from the country's Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) said Seoul has increased monitoring and surveillance. They are maintaining a state of full readiness through close coordination with the US.

JCA says two missiles launched in quick succession. The first one is at 11:59 PM and the second one is at 12:18 PM. Both the missiles rose to a maximum height of 24 km and fell 230 km away.

Pyongyang has conducted a record number of missile tests this year. Tensions are rising on the Korean peninsula due to Pyongyang's missile tests.

The last missile was fired from the Tangchon Missile Launch Center. The center is located just 60 km from the inter-Korean border.
