Instead of an alarm, King Charles woke up to the sound of a flute
After the death of Queen Elizabeth II, her son, King Charles III, ascended the British throne. He has been at the center of discussion since his accession to the throne. People are interested in what they are doing, where they are going, what they are eating etc. Even the way he wakes up every morning, this British king has come into the discussion anew.
According to a report by the British media Cosmopolitan, King Charles does not wake up to the iPhone alarm like others. Instead, he was woken up by the sound of a special type of traditional flute called a bagpipe. Every day at 9 o'clock in the morning, a special kind of flute is played near the window of King Charles, and the king wakes up to its melodious tune. And he has a permanent bass player to do this every day!
Having a special kind of flute player is actually part of the royal tradition. Queen Elizabeth II also kept a bassist.
Citing the country's media The Sun, the report also said that King Charles has appointed Major Paul Barnes to play the bagpipes. The man played the flute at the Queen's funeral last month.
Major Paul Burns tweeted about his experience after the Queen's funeral, saying Queen Elizabeth II was my Colonel-in-Chief and her husband Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh was my Royal Colonel. It was a great honor for me as a serving soldier to play the piper at both of their funerals at Windsor Castle.
"As a young man living near Balmoral Castle, I have been aware of their presence since childhood," he said. It was the Royal Guards that inspired me to join the army. Playing the pipes at the Queen's funeral reminds me of an earlier memory and I am very proud to have honored them both in the process.
However, reports say that Paul Burns later deleted the tweet.
