Meanwhile, China has strongly condemned the US and Canadian warships patrolling the Taiwan Strait. Beijing has also accused Washington of destabilizing the Taiwan Strait.

China's Defense Ministry said in a statement on Wednesday that the two vessels were closely monitored by the Chinese Navy and Air Force throughout their passage through the Taiwan Strait.
