The United Arab Emirates has come forward to solve Germany's energy crisis
The United Arab Emirates has come forward to solve Germany's energy crisis due to the impact of the Russia-Ukraine war. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has signed a new agreement with the country. Through this, the matter of increasing the growth in the industries along with ensuring the energy security between the two countries is given importance.
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz visited the Middle East on September 24 amid the multifaceted crisis in the Russia-Ukraine war. The aim is to erase the name of Russia from the history of Germany's energy sector and verify the feasibility of importing energy from other countries. The German chancellor's wish is fulfilled to some extent during the visit.
The day after his visit to Saudi Arabia, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz discussed the ongoing energy crisis in a bilateral meeting with the President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, on Sunday (September 25). Later, the two leaders signed a new energy agreement between the two countries. The new agreement focuses on ensuring energy security between the two countries and increasing industrial growth.
After the meeting of the two leaders, it was said in a joint statement that fruitful discussions were held between the two countries on cooperation on various issues including energy security issues, reducing carbon emissions in the world and climate action.
Apart from this, Abu Dhabi National Oil Company signed another contract to supply liquefied natural gas LNG to German energy company RWE. According to the agreement, the UAE company will start delivering the first shipment of LNG by the end of 2022. If everything goes well, the gas supplied from the Emirates will be connected to the LNG terminal built at Brunsbuitel port in Hamburg, Germany.
Analysts say that Germany's agreement with the United Arab Emirates in the ongoing global energy crisis will give some relief to the German people before the next winter season.
