As anti-hijab protests continue, anger against the ROIC administration continues to grow

The movement started in Iran on the issue of hijab continues in different countries. Women of many countries including the United States, Canada, Greece, France, Australia are protesting by cutting their hair and burning their hijab. Men are also showing solidarity in the movement started demanding the abolition of compulsory hijab. Meanwhile, the whole of Iran is still in a state of agitation-violence. The security forces are conducting a massive crackdown to suppress the protests. There is a storm of criticism on the issue of freedom of speech and violation of human rights in the UN session.


Protests and violence continue across Iran over the hijab issue. Anger against the ROIC administration is getting stronger. Security forces are cracking down on the protesters. Only in Gilan province, the police reported the arrest of about 750 people. Among them there are 60 women. More than half a hundred have lost their lives so far in the violence.

The movement that started due to the death of Mahsha Amini has spread beyond the borders of Iran to several countries including the United States, Greece, Australia, France. Expressing sympathy for the women of Iran, the outraged people of different countries say that such a heinous crime cannot be accepted in any way. They want the fall of such dictatorship and terrorism.


Meanwhile, there is a storm of criticism about the ongoing protests in Iran in the ongoing session of the United Nations. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has called on President Ibrahim Raisi not to use security forces unnecessarily to suppress protesters.

UN spokesperson Stephan Dujarric said about the ongoing situation in Iran, we are monitoring the situation in Iran. The Secretary General has already met with President Raisi. He has been urged to ensure human rights, freedom of speech, freedom of peaceful movement. Besides, the Secretary General also urged not to use the security forces to suppress the opposition.


Recently, several women including Mahsha Amini were arrested for not wearing the hijab 'properly'. Later, when he died in police custody, the movement spread widely across the country. Millions of people of the country took to the streets to protest against the mandatory wearing of hijab.
