Israel-Hezbollah conflict, Lebanon says only US can stop fighting.

The Lebanese armed group Hezbollah and Israel have been fighting back and forth. It is feared that this ongoing fight will lead to a full-scale war in the Middle East. In this situation, the Lebanese government said, only the United States can stop this war.

569 people, including 50 children, have been killed in Israel's attack on Lebanon since last Monday morning. 1 thousand 835 people were injured. Lebanon's Minister of Health Firas Abiad gave this information in an interview with Al-Jazeera Mubash TV.

In the meantime, Israel claimed on Tuesday that Hezbollah's senior commander Ibrahim Qubaisi was killed in their airstrike in Beirut. Qubaisi was the head of Hezbollah's missile and rocket team. Hezbollah also confirmed Qubaisi's death early Wednesday morning.

Concerns have grown over Israel's renewed offensive against Hezbollah. Many fear the nearly year-long conflict in Gaza between Israel and the Palestinian independence movement Hamas is escalating and could destabilize the Middle East.

The UK government has already asked its nationals to leave Lebanon. They are sending 7,000 troops to Cyprus to help citizens evacuate to safety.

The UN Security Council is going to discuss this conflict situation on Wednesday. UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said, 'Lebanon is on the brink of a dangerous situation. The people of Lebanon, the people of Israel and the people of the world cannot allow Lebanon to become another Gaza.'

US President Joe Biden asked everyone to remain calm while speaking about Israel-Lebanon at the United Nations. He said, 'All-out war will not achieve anyone's interest. Even if the situation worsens, a diplomatic solution is still possible.

However, Lebanon's Foreign Minister Abdallah Bou Habib condemned Biden's speech. He felt that Biden's speech was not "strong and hopeful". According to him, the United States is the only country that can truly change the situation in the Middle East and Lebanon. Because Israel is a long-time ally of the United States. The United States is also the largest supplier of arms to Israel.

In an event organized by the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace in New York, the Lebanese Foreign Minister said, "The United States can play a key role in our transition from this crisis."

Meanwhile, thousands of people who were displaced from southern Lebanon by the Israeli attack are now taking shelter in various schools and other buildings in the capital Beirut. Israel carried out airstrikes on the coastal city of Zieh in Lebanon this morning.
