An Indian Navy MiG-29K fighter jet has crashed. The plane crashed off the coast of Goa on Wednesday (October 12) due to a technical fault during a routine exercise. However, the Indian Air Force said in a statement that the pilot in the fighter plane survived. News from NDTV.

A departmental inquiry has already been ordered to find the cause of the accident. Since 2019, 4 MiG-29K fighter jets have been affected by accidents.

Authorities said the plane crashed while returning to the base after the exercise.

The latest Russian-made MiG-29K aircraft uses the K-36-3.5 ejection seat, which is helpful for the pilot's safe landing even before an accident or crash. The use of this type of ejection seat in fighter aircraft is considered to be the most sophisticated technology in the world.

Earlier in November 2020, a pilot died after a MiG-29 crashed in India. The body of the pilot named Nishant Singh was recovered 11 days after the accident.

Another fighter jet crashed in February of the same year after a bird hit the engine in mid-air.

Also, in November 2019, a MiG-29K training aircraft crashed in a village in Goa. But before that both the pilots managed to get out safely.
