Chinese President Xi Jinping has given a suggestion to the United States, China's biggest rival in international geopolitics. He said, how to ensure peace and development in the world, China and the United States must find a way together.
The Chinese president made such a suggestive statement amid ongoing tensions between the two countries over China's policy on Taiwan and Beijing's strong support for Russia's military operations in Ukraine. Al Jazeera has given this news citing Chinese state media.
After a week-long congress of the Chinese Communist Party, Xi Jinping took office for a third term as president last Sunday. Then he spoke about Taiwan in his speech. He insisted on uniting the island nation with mainland China.
According to Chinese state media CCTV, Xi Jinping sent his greetings in a letter on the occasion of the annual celebration of the National Committee on US-China Relations on Thursday (October 27). He said, 'There is no peace in the world today. In this situation, strong communication and cooperation between China and the United States can stabilize and calm the world as well as accelerate global development.
Xi also said, 'China is willing to work with the US to respect each other, peacefully coexist and find ways to live together in a new era.' He further wrote, 'It will not only be good for both countries, but also good for the whole world.'
Meanwhile, the Biden administration said this month that China is the only U.S. competitor to advance that objective, both in terms of its intent to rebuild international order and growing economic, military and technological power.
