 Canada sanctions 35 individualities and 6 companies in Russia's energy sector 

 Canada on Friday( October 28) charged sanctions against 35 individualities and six companies involved in Russia's energy sector. Also launched a bond to help Ukraine. News from AFP. 

 

 Canada's sanctions include elderly officers of oil and gas giants Lukoil and Gazprom and their subsidiaries, as well as Russia's Minister of Energy and Industry, Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak and former Prime Minister Viktor Zubkov. 


 Former Russian National Hockey League player Alexander Frolov and chess grandmaster Anton Demchenko are also on the list. This list includes further than,400 individualities and associations indicted of involvement in Russia's military operations in Ukraine. 

 

 Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said in a press conference that steps have been taken to raise finances by launching a five- time bond to help Ukraine. 


" The Ukrainian Sovereignty Bond is a way for Canadians to directly contribute to the war against Russia by supporting the country's people and government," he added. 

 

 But officers declined to say how much money would be raised through such a bond issue. And this bond has also been kept open for foreign buyers.
