Pilgrims helicopter crashes, 6 killed
A helicopter carrying Kedarnath pilgrims has crashed in Uttarakhand, India. Six people including two pilots were killed in this incident.
NDTV reported this information on Tuesday (October 18) citing officials.
Kedarnath is one of the most important pilgrimage sites for Hindus. It is located in Rudraprayak district of Uttarakhand. There is a temple on the banks of the Mandakini river at an altitude of about 4000 meters in the Himalayas. The name of that area is Kedarnath. Hence the temple was named as Kedarnath temple. As it is located in the remote hills, many of the pilgrims from the plains use helicopters. the
