According to media RT, the Ministry of Transport of Russia has also confirmed the resumption of traffic on the Crimea bridge. Initially one lane of the bridge is open for traffic in both directions (Russia-Crimea). Earlier, the Russian committee formed to investigate the explosion incident said on Saturday (October 8) that an explosion in a truck on the bridge caused 7 fuel tanks of a train bound for Crimea to catch fire. Three people have died in this incident.

The All-Russian Union of Insurers said the damage to the bridge due to the explosion could be 200-500 million rubles ($3.2-8 million).

Ukraine's top officials cheered after the explosion on the Crimean bridge, but did not claim responsibility. However, Estonian Foreign Minister Urmas Reinsalu congratulated Kiev's special operations unit, which many believe was behind the 'operation'.

This incident happened on Saturday morning local time on the Crimean bridge connecting the Crimean peninsula with the mainland of Russia. Russian President Vladimir Putin inaugurated the bridge in 2018.
