Putin under pressure at home and abroad, allies are not there!
Apart from Europe-America, Russian President Vladimir Putin is under pressure in his own country on the issue of Ukraine. The anti-Russian camp has started to move against Putin amid Western sanctions. Protests are taking place in various cities against the new deployment of troops in Ukraine. Although two allies China and India have supported Russia, they now want a negotiated end to the war.
Russia started military operations in Ukraine on February 24 this year. After seven months, there is no sign of the war ending. Rather, Russian President Vladimir Putin has announced a new increase in troops to strengthen military operations in Ukraine. It is believed that he made such a decision because of the recovery of new areas by the Ukrainian army and the casualties of the Russian army.
After the start of the war, the Western countries, although they did not take part in it directly, continue to exert pressure on Russia. In addition to the siege on Moscow, Western countries including the United States are supporting Ukraine with weapons and money. Russia is under great economic pressure.
Despite continuing the war in Ukraine despite Western pressure, Putin is now facing anger at home. Massive protests have started across Russia against the decision to deploy 300,000 more troops to Ukraine. Every day, anti-Putin protesters are protesting the war in Ukraine.
China and India have called for a quick end to the war through talks, even as allies support Russia in the Ukraine war. In the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly, the foreign ministers of the two countries strongly called for an end to the conflict in Ukraine.
At the beginning of this month, Xi expressed his concern to Putin about Ukraine in the Chinese President's meeting with Russian President Putin in Uzbekistan. Apart from this, despite normal relations with the US, India maintains strategic relations with Russia. Delhi purchases arms and fuel from Moscow. This, however, created tension with Washington for the Modi government. However, Putin is unwilling to make any concessions to the security of his country and the security of the common people. He has announced to continue the war until the target is achieved as well as increase the expenditure on the defense sector.
