'Misguided' youth, PUBG-TikTok ban in Afghanistan
The Taliban government has decided to ban apps like PUBG and TikTok arguing that mobile games and online media are leading the youth of Afghanistan 'astray'. Several such apps may be banned in Afghanistan within the next three months, it has been reported.
Taliban leaders have previously said to ban PUBG and TikTok apps. Their argument is that the youth is becoming 'bad' by using these apps.
Recently, Taliban spokesperson Inamullah Samangani said that it is very important to ban TikTok and Pubg to save the youth. It was discussed between representatives of Afghanistan's security department and Sharia law experts. After that, the Taliban government is on the way to ban both apps.
The decision may come into effect within the next 90 days. In the meantime, the Taliban government has informed the telecommunication and internet service providers of their decision.
Earlier, many websites were also banned by the Taliban government. Websites that match songs, movies, etc. have been shut down. Even watching TV serials is off.
Anything that broadcasts or watches entertainment programs is banned in Afghanistan. As a result, PUBG and Tik Tok are being banned this time.
